Accessibility
I want this website to be as clear, readable, and accessible as possible for everyone who visits.
This site has been built using the Icelander theme, which is designed with accessibility in mind. This includes support for keyboard navigation, visible focus states, skip links, and clear page structure.
Readable Typography
For body text, this website uses Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface developed by Braille Institute to improve readability and legibility, particularly for people with low vision.
The font has been chosen because its letterforms are clear and distinctive, helping to reduce confusion between similar characters and making longer text easier to read.
You can learn more about Atkinson Hyperlegible on the Braille Institute website.
Keyboard Navigation
This website is designed to work with keyboard navigation. Visitors should be able to move through links, menus, forms, and other interactive elements using the tab key.
A skip link is also provided so keyboard users can move directly to the main content of the page.
Images and Artwork
Where possible, images on this website include alternative text to help describe the content or purpose of the image.
For artwork images, descriptions are written to support understanding while respecting the visual and interpretive nature of the work.
Colour and Contrast
The website has been designed with attention to colour contrast, spacing, and readability. The aim is to create a calm visual experience without compromising clarity.
Ongoing Improvements
Accessibility is an ongoing process. I do my best to review and improve the website over time, especially as new work, images, and written content are added.
If you experience any difficulty using this website, or if there is something that would make it easier for you to access the content, please get in touch.
