Now

What’s keeping me busy these days?

  • Back in Mallorca after two months in Seto, Japan, where I completed an apprenticeship with a 13th-generation potter.
  • Setting up a studio, I have some new space to work in on the island, more on that later.
  • Developing the Ireland chapter of Trace, my long-term site-specific glaze research. Planning specimen collection trips to Fermanagh and the Burren.
  • Making more dolls and sculptures.

What's keeping me entertained?

Reading: 32 Words for Field - Lost Words of the Irish Landscape by Manchán Magan also The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark.

Listening: to Intermediate Spanish podcast.

Watching: Cape Fear (the 2026 Apple one).

Learning: Spanish! I'm currently studying level A2 / B1 so a long way to go yet.
