Trace – Chapter Two

Trace – Chapter One

Hand-sized ceramic sculpture of two companion figures in a soft white glaze. A larger upright figure stands with its hands clasped beneath a woven scarf, while a smaller dog-like creature sits beside it looking upward. The smaller creature has a rounded body, short hind legs, long ears and no front limbs. Small dot eyes and a slight downward curve of the mouth give the larger figure a quiet, reflective expression. The smooth surfaces and rounded forms create a gentle, reassuring presence. The relationship between the two figures feels slightly unbalanced, with the smaller creature directing its attention towards the larger figure, which appears distant and self-contained.
